Savory, upscale restaurant style. Very little balsamic goes a long way.
Ingredients
— 🍸 THE BUILD
— 2 oz vodka
— 3/4 oz fig syrup
— 1/2 oz fresh lemon juice
— 1/4 oz aged balsamic reduction
— One crack of black pepper
— 🍂 GARNISH
— Fresh fig slice
Prep
— Reduce balsamic vinegar: simmer in a small pan until it coats a spoon, about 5 minutes. Cool completely.
— Chill a coupe glass.
Method
— Combine vodka, fig syrup, lemon, and balsamic in a shaker with ice.
— Add one single crack of black pepper.
— Shake for 12 seconds.
— Double strain into the chilled coupe.
— Garnish with a fresh fig slice.
Chef's Note: Use aged balsamic, not regular. And use it sparingly — 1/4 oz is the maximum. If it tastes like salad dressing, you used too much.
