Thick Cretan yogurt with thyme honey and walnuts. The Cretan breakfast — and the best possible version of it.
Ingredients
— 400g thick strained Greek yogurt (full-fat)
— 3–4 tbsp Cretan thyme honey
— ½ cup walnuts, roughly broken
— Pinch of cinnamon
— Fresh thyme sprig
Prep
— If yogurt has any liquid on top, drain it off.
— Have honey and walnuts ready.
Method
— Spoon yogurt into bowls or onto a wide plate.
— Create a shallow well in the center.
— Scatter walnuts over the yogurt.
— Drizzle thyme honey generously — into the well and over the walnuts.
— Optional: pinch of cinnamon.
— Optional: fresh thyme sprig.
— You're looking for:
— Yogurt thick enough that the honey sits on top before slowly sinking
— Walnuts catching the honey as it runs
— Serve immediately.
